Kaan Sezgin, I was born in 2007 in Ankara,
I am a multidisciplinary artist who focuses on exploring the body.
I began my art journey at a young age with drawing and painting. Receiving my first camera for my 17th birthday opened many doors for me and my art.
Now, I continue to create art using photography, drawing, painting and
music.

Artist Statement:
My work is a poetic exploration of human psychology and existence. I use my creativity to bring forth the topics that do not have a concrete visual equivalent, challenging myself to depict the immaterial. Instead of standing on one particular style, I shape my visual language from topic to topic for a better portrayal. Strongly inspired by the paintings of Bacon and the philosophical ideas of Sartre,
I invite the viewer to question, and find a part of themselves within my work.

My process involves a dialogue between mediums: Even though I mostly work with the photographic medium, in my drawings, tumultuous thoughts merge with the human figure—bodies disintegrating in the abyss of the mind. And sometimes I like to layer these visual works with ambient soundscapes to transform these static images into an immersive realm.
